The captain of each participating boat must be a member of a recognized sailing club or organization to participate in the LOWISA Regatta. If you are not currently a member of a sailing club or organization, you can purchase a Sail Manitoba membership (35 CAD) alongside your registration payment in the LOWISA store so that you will be covered under Sail Manitoba's liability insurance.

Participant Waiver *

In consideration for participation in Lowisa 57, on behalf of myself, my heirs, successors and assigns, I hereby waive any and all claims, actions, suits and demands against LOWISA (Lake of the Woods International Sailing Association), and any of its members, sponsors or agents representing or related to LOWISA as regard to Regatta Guest for the duration of the LOWISA Regatta and all its host locations whether on land or water and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (all of the foregoing hereby referred to as “Releasees”). This release is for any and all liability for personal injuries (including death) and property losses or damages occasioned by, or in connection with any activity or accommodations for this event. I further agree to abide by all the rules and regulations disclosed by LOWISA throughout the Regatta. I acknowledge that participation in the sport of yachting or in the Event involve substantial risk of personal injury or even death and the undersigned hereby assume sole risk and responsibility of any such injury that may occur to my person, my crew or any personal property. I hereby assume the risk of any such injury or loss that may occur while practicing for or participating in the Event. This release is executed in accordance with and shall be governed by the general laws of Ontario. I certify that I am a member in good standing of a certified sailing club or organization in the United States or Canada (US Sailing, Sail Manitoba, etc.). In addition, I certify that my boat is insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $500,000 per event or the equivalent thereof. In addition, I understand my boat may be photographed during the race. I grant the LOWISA permission to use my boat’s photo and/or likeness in any public relations or marketing materials related to LOWISA.
